Two killed over land dispute

Suspects escape after committing murder

RAWALPINDI:

At least two people were killed on Friday over a land dispute in the Jama Angori area of Patriata Murree.

According to the police, a 70-year-old man and his grandson were gunned down by their close relatives over a land dispute. The suspected killer escaped the scene after committing the crime.

According to the police, 70-year-old Ali Nawaz and his 35-year-old grandson, Raja Azhar, had been locking horns with Shahid Nazir and other relatives of their community over a piece of land for the last couple of years.

On Friday, both the parties clashed and Shahid and others started firing, which resulted in the death of Ali Nawaz and Raja Azhar on the spot.

According to the police, the accused escaped from the scene under the cover of fire. Police reached the spot after the incident and collected evidence from the crime scene.

Superintendent of Police Kohsar Hayder Ali said that teams have been formed to arrest the accused, who have fled the scene after committing the crime.
