#InternationalYouthDay: A look at the PepsiCo-supported Youth Development Program

The program attempts to empower youth and bridge the skills gap to make them more employable


As we celebrate the International Youth Day today, we look at how PepsiCo Pakistan is rallying behind Pakistani youth through its holistic youth development program. As a leading food and beverage company, PepsiCo is spearheading active engagement with diverse youth as part of its broader pep+ (PepsiCo Positive) vision for investing in the development of communities and creating socio-economic impact.

PepsiCo’s philanthropic commitment towards youth development is anchored in building young women and men’s professional skills to help them gain meaningful employment opportunities leading to economic independence.

PepsiCo’s youth development program in partnership with the Amal Academy prioritises on working with young people to develop skills such as communications, teamwork, leadership, positive thinking, and growth mindset. The PepsiCo-Amal Career Prep Fellowship program now in its fourth year, focuses on specific career skills such as interview preparation, job placement, and project presentation.

To date, the program has supported fellows from more than 135 towns and villages across Pakistan. Based on program graduate surveys, 80% of the program’s graduates receive an offer of employment within three months of program completion.

We are immensely proud of the ongoing PepsiCo-Amal Career Prep Fellowship program designed to address the current skills gap and support youngsters to acquire skills needed for their socio-professional participation so that they can thrive in today’s job market!”
