Eight senior cops transferred

Commanders of four key districts are among those assigned new tasks

At least eight senior police officers were transferred across Punjab on Wednesday including three commanders of four key districts.

The transferred DPOs included of Okara, Sargodha and Jhelum.

As per an order issued by the Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP) Faisal Shahkar, SSP Hassan Iqbal has been transferred as DPO to Central Police Office Punjab (CPO) upon his transfer to the Intelligence Bureau (IB.

SP Investigations Okara Khalid Mehmood Tabbassaum, a grade 18 officer, has been assigned to look after the work of the post of DPO Okara till the posting of a regular DPO, Shahkar ordered.

SSP Muhammad Tariq Aziz currently serving as additional director administration SPU Punjab Lahore has been deputed as DPO Sargodha while SP Bilal Zafar Sheikh who was working as DPO Sargodah has been transferred to Aziz's position.

Muhammad Aamir Khan Niazi currently serving as DPO Jhelum has been transferred to CPO and Dr SP Fahad Ahmad has been appointed as DPO in his place.

Through an order, Shahkar transferred DSP Internal Accountability Branch Nilofar Hayyat to DSP Bhalwal Sargodha.

Her counterpart DSP Muhammad Nawaz has been transferred to CPO from DSP Bhalwal Sargodha.
