HYDERABAD:

Hyderabad received another torrential downpour on Wednesday, submerging the low lying localities and poorly built roads of the city. The Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded a maximum of 65mm of rain in the city and 14mm in its outskirts.

Like always, the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) suspended the power supply to most parts of the district, moments after the rain began to pour heavily.

The HESCO, however, claimed that 56 out of 121 feeders of 11KV were shut down for safety reasons. The staggered restoration started around two hours later. But many areas reported recurrent outages even after the resumption of the power supply.
