Laal Singh Chaddha: Aamir wanted SRK to represent what Elvis represented in US

Bollywood's King Khan will star in a small cameo in the Advait Chandan directorial

Aamir Khan is currently readying himself for the big release of his upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha. The film, which is a Hindi remake of the cult classic, Forrest Gump, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Aamir stars as the titular character in the film alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan.

However, there is one more name that has now been confirmed to appear in the project for a cameo. According to Indian publications, Bollywood's King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan will star in a small cameo in the Advait Chandan directorial.

In a clip going viral from the interview, Aamir is heard saying, “Shah Rukh is a friend, and I told him that I needed someone who could represent what Elvis represented in America and is the biggest iconic star in India, which is why I’m coming to you.”

Reports say that the 55-year-old star filmed his scenes with Aamir in Delhi before his extended vacation to Dubai where he’s currently cheering on his IPL team the Kolkata Knight Riders. According to Mumbai Mirror, Aamir and Shah Rukh had a great time on the sets of Laal Singh Chaddha.

Previously, it was reported that Aamir wasn't keen on making Laal Singh Chaddha in the first place. Talking to Cinestaan in an interview, the Dangal star agreed that he was not ready to sit for a narration of Atul Kulkarni's script for Forrest Gump adaptation.

"Yes. I was a little worried because he had written his first script. He hadn’t written a script before. He asked me to listen to it very enthusiastically. I felt if I listen and don’t like it, he would feel bad. Also, a film like Forrest Gump, which is such a cult classic, is very difficult to imagine adapting into another film. That’s why I didn’t listen to his script for two years," he said.
