Bilawal pays homage to police martyrs

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday paid homage to the martyrs of police who laid down their lives in the line duty for protecting the lives and property of citizens.

In his message on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day, the Bilawal admired the police department for dedicated services and devoting energies to the line of duty.

He said that police remained on the forefront of untoward situations like violence and terrorism like a wall of steel. They sacrificed on the front line in the war against terrorism.

He said that the sacrifices of police officials and officers cannot be forgotten. Bilawal said that the policemen and officers are the shield that ensures people’s protection. They are the pride of the nation, he added.

Karachi police chief AIG Javed Alam Odho paid tribute to police martyrs who sacrificed their lives to establish law and order in the city, eradicate terrorism, and protect citizens’ lives and property.

Ceremonies were held at the offices of the DIG , District SSPs SSU and various district headquarters to offer prayers for the martyred cops, while senior officers visited the homes of martyrs and met their heirs.

AIG Odho said, “Police Martyrs’ Day serves as a reminder to renew our dedication to the people who gave their lives to preserve the city’s peace.

“The public’s trust ensures our success. We promise that every officer and official of our force will defend and serve the people until the last drop of our blood.

He further added, “The martyrs were the pride of the department, and we place the welfare of their families as our first concern.”

More than 902 policemen sacrificed their lives to bring peace to Karachi. Law officers have high morale because they serve the public and uphold the rule of law.
