Islamabad Police caught two members of a dacoit gang involved in numerous robberies

ISLAMABAD:

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police apprehended two members of a dacoit gang involved in numerous robberies and recovered looted cash and valuables from their possession, said a police public relations officer.

On the special directions of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Sohail Zafar Chattha, Senior Superintent of Police (SSP) Investigation Farhat Abbas Kazmi handed over the recovered gold ornaments and cash to the rightful owners here on Monday.

Following the directions of the Inspector General (IG) Police and on special orders of DIG Operations, the CIA police have formulated a comprehensive strategy to curb dacoity and theft in the federal capital and to recover snatched and stolen valuables.

The public relations officer said the CIA police team, under the supervision of SSP Investigation Farhat Abbas Kazmi, used the latest technology and human resources and arrested two members of the notorious 'Shani' dacoit gang who were involved in robbing peoples outside the banks.

Police also recovered 60 tola gold , Rs300,000 in cash, one motorcycle and two 30-bore pistols with ammunition from their possession.

The accused were identified as Tahirul Islam and Nazakat Hussain. Cases against nominated accused have been registered and further investigation is underway.

DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chattha said the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is their prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.

“Officers with good performance will be rewarded, while the officers showing laxity towards their official duties will be dealt with iron hands,” he maintained.

The owners thanked and appreciated the efforts of Islamabad Police.
