The General Manager of Projects for Wapda (South) Amir Mughal has refuted the news running on a private TV channel regarding probable danger to Hub Dam maintaining that the water reservoir is fully protected.
The maximum water storage level in the Hub Dam is 339 feet which has been attained by the dam since July 17 this year, he said, adding that the excess water entering the dam due to recent rains is being safely discharged downstream through the spillway.
The Wapda officer further said that his team is fully active at Hub Dam and monitoring the flows into the reservoir while ensuring excess water is safely discharged from the spillway.
Mughal said that Hub Dam was completed in 1981 and since then it has been completely filled nine times.
Earlier, the dam was completely filled two years ago in 2020 and the excess water at that time was also safely discharged downstream, he added.
