Minister says govt creating business-friendly environment for industries

Federal Minister of Industries and Production Makhdoom Syed Murtaza Mehmood has said that the government’s strong commitment to the auto industry is encouraging large-scale investment and creating a business-friendly environment for the automotive and engineering sectors.

“I congratulate our local industrialists and engineers who have achieved remarkable success in establishing a robust engineering sector, which is generating new opportunities for value-added exports,” Mehmood said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Pakistan Auto Show 2022 on Friday.

He stressed that the automobile industry of Pakistan was a cornerstone of the national economy. “It not only revitalises the economy but also plays an essential role in elevating Pakistan’s image as a progressive country with a thriving industrial base.”

The event, organised by the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (Paapam), will run from July 29 to 31. The exhibition features more than 153 exhibitors comprising local and international auto manufacturers and related enterprises.

Renowned companies were exhibiting their latest parts and technologies. Visitors will be able to take test-drive of the latest cars of MG, Toyota, Suzuki and Honda.

Former Paapam chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi said that the Auto Show 2022 was setting new benchmarks and trends for the automotive industry.

“The event will attract more than 100,000 visitors from all over Pakistan and foreign countries. Over 200 international buyers and more than 100 international visitors will be attending the auto show.”
