Miscreants open fire at minister’s convoy

Balochistan Minister for Food, Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai escaped unhurt in an attack in the Maizai Addah area of district Killa Abdullah on Friday.

“Miscreants opened fire at our vehicles while we were on way but the fire was returned by my guards and the attackers escaped afterwards,” Achakzai said.

Soon after the attack, levies personnel reached the spot and launched a search operation as well as started investigation in the case.

The security of the minister was further beefed up after the unsuccessful attempt.

“I was on a visit to my constituency to meet flood affected people when it was attacked it is an attempt to keep me away from my voters and supporters,” Achakzai added.

Deputy Commissioner Killa Abdullah, Munir Ahmed Kakar reached the spot and reviewed the security arrangements for the minister.
