Woman held for plotting murder

Accused attempted to order mother-in-law's killing in 'robbery'

LAHORE:

A woman was arrested for allegedly ordering the murder of her mother-in-law during a robbery in Wahdat Colony on Friday.

Reportedly, police were alerted that three unidentified suspects barged into the house of 66-year-old Kaneez Bibi and pushed her when she offered resistance during the attempted robbery.

The victim hit her head on the floor and died at the scene. Police reached the spot upon information and launched an investigation into the crime.

While during recording statements from the family members, they found the deceased’s daughter-in-law, Maria Bibi, to be suspicious. When police interrogated her, she confessed to the crime. In April this year, a man allegedly shot dead his parents, a sibling, a nephew and in-laws in PCSIR Colony and Sheraz Town respectively in the provincial capital.

The suspect, Abid, after killing his father Ghulam Hussain, his mother, Nasreen Bibi, sister Raheela Bibi and nephew Hamayun Khuram, drove straight to Sheraz Town, a few kilometers off his house, where his in-laws lived.

There he re-loaded his gun and opened fire on his in-laws, killing Shagufta Bibi and his father-in-law Aslam.
