Dengue awareness walk held in Pindi

Citizens urged to take precautionary measures against viral infection

RAWALPINDI:

The walk aims to provide awareness regarding the prevention measures against dengue to the residents of Darya Aabad, the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with a local welfare organisation organised an awareness walk.

The participants of the walk carried banners and placards with symptoms and prevention methods mentioned on them. The walk began from Daryaabad Kumhar Mandi. The participants toured around Shaheenpura, Madanpura, Karam Elahi compound, Mohalla Ahle Quraish and other areas. The walk came to an end at the reality langar.

A large number of local people including Deputy Director Social Welfare Department Rawalpindi, Mirza Muhammad Akram, Social Welfare Officer Raja Imran Sarfaraz, President of Reality Welfare Organisation, Malik Khalid Awan and social worker Rashid Mehmood participated in the awareness walk.

Moreover, Deputy Director Mirza Muhammad Akram, while addressing the participants, said that prevention from dengue fever is possible if every citizen plays his/her due role in preventing the disease. Citizens are advised to protect themselves from Dengue by keeping their houses, shops and surroundings clean.

Furthermore, President Reality Welfare Organisation, Malik Khalid Awan, in his speech said that the welfare organisation stands with the Punjab government against the dengue mosquito.

He said that, the services of the Social Welfare Department to protect citizens from the deadly dengue mosquito are commendable. He further said that, through this awareness walk, thousands of people will try to protect their loved ones from the disease.
