PTI lawmakers’ bails extended till Aug 5

ATC hearing cases against 18 PTI leaders for vandalism, torturing police officials in Azadi March

LAHORE:

An anti-terrorism court extended pre-arrest bails of 18 PTI leaders till August 5 in cases of damaging public properties, torturing police officials and creating chaos in public during the party’s long march to Islamabad on May 25.

As the proceedings commenced, the court asked whether or not the accused have joined the investigation to which the counsel for accused replied that all accused have joined the investigation.

Meanwhile, the court summoned the counsels for final arguments by the next date.

Several FIRs had been registered against the accused in different police stations under different including 7ATA sections.

The lawmakers then moved to the court for getting the pre-arrest bails contending they have nothing to do with these FIRs adding they had been implicated in forge cases merely to humiliate and blackmail them.

The aforesaid accused were implicated in FIRs registered with Shahdra, Bhatti Gate, Shafiqabad and Gulberg police stations.
