Rawalpindi sees steady rise in Covid cases
Rawalpindi has seen a steady rise in the coronavirus as people have completely abandoned following SOPs against the deadly virus.
According to health authorities,10 more people have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus during the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak of the disease, around 1,336 people have lost their lives in the Rawalpindi district.
According to the health officials, 91 coronavirus-positive patients were currently in home isolation while no patient has been admitted to the hospital.
Citizens are not wearing masks, using sanitisers, avoiding crowds and maintaining social distance. Even, doctors, patients, students and senior officers have stopped following the coronavirus SOPs.
According to the health officials, 1,020 tests were conducted during the last 24 and 10 people were confirmed to be positive and the positive ratio remained at one per cent.
According to health officials, so far, 6,981,783 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus across the district. So far, the number of confirmed patients with coronavirus has been 4,3559 and of them, 42132 people have been discharged from hospitals after recovery.
The health department has provided the facility for conducting tests against the virus in government hospitals. After the initial two doses of vaccines, a booster dose is also administered to the citizens.
Health officials said that the citizens have a misconception that the coronavirus has been completely eradicated but the fact was that it was still prevalent and spread.
They said that as long as the coronavirus spreads through the population, mutations will continue to happen. They said that it was important to complete the vaccination.
