QUETTA:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader and former National Assembly deputy speaker Qasam Suri has lashed out at the present government for what he called its “repressive policies”.

Addressing party workers in Quetta on Saturday, Suri said, “The rulers are frightened to see the PTI and its allies winning the hearts and minds of the people.”

To deter them, the government was filing false cases against the opposition, he added. "We are not frightened of the government and ready to face all kinds of cases," the former deputy speaker said.

Regarding the issue of the election of the Punjab chief minister, Suri expressed the hope that justice would be done by the apex court and those promoting horse-trading would be discouraged.

"Masses stand by the PTI and former prime minister Imran Khan," he said. When asked about the treason case against him, he reiterated, "I am ready to face every case".

A large number of people belonging to the Hazara community also announced joining the PTI on the occasion.

Addressing the new entrants to the party, he said people have already rejected the imported government and rulers. "Our struggle against these illegitimate rulers will continue."

“The NRO 2 has been given to those running this imported government,” he said.

Suri alleged that the present rulers violated the Constitution and committed treason by overthrowing an elected government of the PTI. “They are traitors we are not.”

The former deputy speaker urged the party workers to forge unity among their ranks and foil the conspiracies of rulers.
