Blitzers, a K-pop band, was in Pakistan last month, apparently visiting historical sites and posing ahead of all the magnificence Lahore has to offer. But the South Korean band wasn’t just on a vacation. Turns out the band members spent their time shooting a music video ahead of flamboyant truck art and Lahore’s striking architecture.
Their latest song, Hit The Bass, dropped on Wednesday with a video that pays homage to Lahore. From featuring the famous food streets in the city to the mesmerizing visuals of Badshahi Mosque and the Lahore fort, the song even covers a wedding hall decorated in tones of red and gold. The coloured hair, smooth transitions and trendy dance moves are the cherry on top, giving a real sense of fusion and not appropriation to the track.
In just two days of its release, the music video has racked up 1.4 million views on YouTube. With Hit The Bass, Blitzers have not just delighted their existing fanbase but also attracted a larger Pakistani audience. Expressing how they feel about the song, social media users took to Twitter with to share their favourite scenic shots and to send some “much-deserved” love to the band.
A user on Twitter wrote that this is the way one “represents Pakistan”.

Ecstatic about how the band did not disappoint, a user added how happy they were with the fact that the music video was shot in Pakistan. “As usual, Blitzers didn’t disappoint. Hit The Bass is insane with Wooju’s high note and rapping and the choreography was so powerful too. The music video was so good as well. It made me so happy seeing Pakistan there, it’s so pretty and I love that they shot it here.”

Many also highlighted how glad they were about Pakistani culture making its way to K-pop. Users also noted that the chorus and bridge of the song “slapped” for them (read: stood out).
