One killed, 17 injured as van falls into ravine

One passenger was killed and 17 were injured when a tourist van fell into a deep ravine near Dhaka Bangla in Murree on Thursday.

A group of 18 tourists from Islamabad and Rahim Yar Khan were on their way to Murree in the van bearing when it fell into a ravine after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle.

Rescue 1122 and police officials rushed to the spot and retrieved those trapped inside the van and give them first aid. However, a man named Rana Tahir, who hailed from Rahim Yar Khan, died after being trapped under the van. The body and the injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital Murree. Three of the injured were stated to be in critical condition.

Among those injured were 48-year-old Rana Masood, 45-year-old Sobia Rana, 12-year-old Rana Azir, 10-year-old Rana Abdullah, 7-year-old Hina Rana, 47-year-old Tahir, 25-year-old Zaheer Tahir, 7-year-old Ayesha Tahir, 48-year-old Khalid Mahmood, 42-year-old Qudsia Khalid, 13-year-old Fatima Khalid, 48-year-old Najeeb Rehman, 36-year-old Joriya Najib, 11-year-old Khizr Najib, 10-year-old Romisha Najib, 7-year-old Yahya Najib and 40-year-old Banaras.
