Two men shot dead in Haripur
A 65-year-old was shot dead near the district court on GT Road in Haripur.
The police arrested the accused and recovered a pistol from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused.
According to the sources, the accused killed 65-year-old Haji Abdul Rasheed, a resident of Panian. Soon after the shooting, police officers Nauman and Imran Hameed who were on duty outside the District Court chased the alleged killer Owasi Sabir and arrested him along with the weapon used in the murder.
Police said that the killing took place over a dispute on a rickshaw transaction. The body of the elderly citizen was shifted to the Haripur Trauma Centre.
A case under section 302 has been registered against the accused. The body was handed over to the family after completing medical and legal formalities.
In a separate incident, a man shot dead his real brother over a domestic dispute in Mohalla Darul Uloom of Khalabat Township on Monday.
According to sources, Malik Abid killed his real brother Malik Wajid in Khalabat Township. The police arrested the accused immediately.
A child had died while two others suffered severe injuries when the compressor of a water cooler at a CNG pump exploded in Kot Najeebullah a week ago. On Monday, one of the injured named Muhammad Waheed succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the Haripur police caught several boys and girls red-handed during raid at a hotel on GT Road and registered.
According to the police, police received information that Hamza, a resident Mansehra, who lives at the hotel runs a brothel. They raided the guest house and arrested Hamza. A case has been registered against them.
