BATTAGRAM: A man was shot dead in the jurisdiction of Gajbori police station here on Sunday.

The motive behind the daytime murder was alleged to be a family dispute. Family sources and police told that Muhammad Ayub was sleeping in the courtyard when unknown assailants entered the house after scaling boundary wall and sprayed him with AK-47s.

The man died instantly, police and family sources told. According to deceased’s family, he had married a woman from a nearby village some ten years back. The couple has four children, but the woman’s parents were opposed to the marriage and used to threaten to avenge the “bad name” Ayub had brought to their family.
