‘Respect of vote’ will be protected: CM
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has said that those doing politics of service will win in the by-elections.
The CM directed the administration and police to ensure the security of the voters, adding that the Punjab government will guard the respect of the vote. He also issued directions for maintaining a peaceful environment during the by-elections.
He said miscreants will not be allowed to disturb the environment during the polling process.
The chief minister directed the police and administration to remain completely impartial and neutral during the by-elections.
Asserting his commitment to accept the power of the vote, he directed the police and the administration to perform their constitutional and legal responsibilities in letter and spirit.
Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz also directed the administration and the police to fully implement the directions of the Election Commission.
Preparations for the by-polls on 20 seats of Punjab Assembly scheduled to be held on July 17 (today) have been finalised as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) completed the printing of five million ballot papers.
On May 20, the election supervisor had de-seated 25 MPAs of the PTI for defying party directives and voting for Hamza Shehbaz for the post of the Punjab chief minister.
