Two killed, vehicles torched in protest on Super Highway
The Super Highway near the Sohrab Goth area looked like a battlefield as unidentified people created chaos for four hours allegedly in reaction to the Hyderabad incident and its aftermath.
Unidentified protestors blocked the Super Highway by creating hurdles and burning tyres on the road. They also torched two cars, two motorcycles and a bus during the protest.
Protestors also pelted stones on moving traffic and broke windows and windshields of many vehicles. Taking advantage of the situation, criminal elements also joined the protestors and snatched cash, jewellery and other valuables from the people stuck in the traffic.
A 30-year-old man, identified as Najamul Hasan was killed for resisting the outlaws in their bid to snatch valuables at the Buraq petrol station on Super Highway.
Later, Nazir Allah Wadhaya, 30, a resident of Lasi Goth, was shot dead by unidentified men in the Sohrab Goth area, ASI Abdul Ghafoor said.
Women stuck in traffic jam were also abused by unknown people. Armed suspects also snatched official weapons from the traffic police.

After four hours, heavy contingents of Rangers and police reached the spot and dispersed the protesters by aerial firing and shelling and restored the flow of traffic.
Miscreants robbed the people on board a coaster. They also broke the windshield of the coaster. The people on board the coaster were going to a farm house for picnic.
The police tried to negotiate with the protestors but unknown persons chased them away by pelting stones.
District East SSP and Rangers reported the incident to their superiors, on which the high command instructed them to take action and disperse the protesters.
Later, police and Rangers sieged Al-Asif Square and took more than a more than a dozen men into custody and transferred them to unknown location.
Unidentified miscreants assaulted Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) Deputy Director Admin Ahmed Madani in Sohrab Goth and damaged his official vehicle. According to police, Madani was sent home after first aid.
