Rogers to provide millions of customers five-day worth of credit
Following a massive outage, Rogers Communications announced that it will be giving credits to millions of its customers who got affected.
Canada’s largest mobile and internet provider, Rogers suffered a major outage last week that affected banks, emergency service hotlines, transport and much more. The company started recovering the system after the outage lasted for more than 19 hours last week.
According to BBC, the firm posted on Tuesday that the users will receive "the equivalent of five days service". The company had previously offered credit worth two days of service.
The company is still trying to understand the cause and the extent of the outage as this was the second such incident in the last 15 months.
Initial investigations suggest that a “maintenance update in the core network” caused the issue.
