The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) and Municipal Committee Qasimabad failed to keep their areas clean. The swampy streets, ridden with sewage and solid waste, were noticeable in every locality of the city. It appeared that the sanitary workforce which was available during the rainy days was assigned to lift solid waste from only some of the important main roads of the city.
Hyderabad Electric Supply Company inflicted long hours of outages during the rain. The spokesman of HESCO Sadiq Kubar said the 11 kv feeders were kept shut for safety reasons.
There are 121 feeders of 11 kv in Hyderabad and the spokesman claimed that the power supply was suspended from a maximum of 47 on July 5.
