Man dies as roof of his house caves in

Rescue 112 spokesman says incident occurred due to heavy rains

A man was killed when the roof of his house caved in during rains near Jhangi Syedan on Saturday.

After receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 teams reached the site and rescued another person buried under the rubble. A rescue spokesman said the roof of the house collapsed during heavy rain, leaving two men buried under the rubble. One of them died. Two emergency vehicles and 5 rescue personnel took part in the rescue operation.

The spokesman said that 53-year-old Omar Ali was pulled alive from the rubble while 44-year-old Muhammad Zaheer died.

Zaheer hailed from Azad Kashmir and worked at as a security guard at a private security company. He did of severe head injuries and his legs were also fractured.

The body and injured person were shifted to PIMS Hospital.

Meanwhile, four sacrificial oxen and a cow were killed in the limits of Chauntra police station on Monday.

Police said that members of two groups had held a grudge over old enmity and in order to take revenge one group killed the sacrificial animals of the other group.

Police registered a case on the request of the victim Shoaibur Rehman and started an investigation.
