ACE probes Bushra Bibi’s brother in corruption case

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has opened investigation against Ahmad Mujtaba – brother of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi – in a corruption case.

Mujtaba had allegedly given government land on lease through his front man.

According to details available with The Express Tribune, the accused had occupied the government land through a market committee chairman Tahir Zahoor. Later, he got the shops constructed there.

Mujtaba along with other accused had been asked to appear before an ACE investigation team on July 6.

A copy of summons available with The Express Tribune asked Mujtaba, Zahoor, secretary Tahir Tanveer and eight other accused persons to appear before regional director ACE Sahiwal in an FIR 14/2022 against the offences of 420 (fraud), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent), 166 (public servant disobeying law, with intent to cause injury to any person) of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and other offences.

Mujtaba’s sister Bushra Bibi has been under spotlight especially on social media after a purported audio conversation with PTI digital media head Arsalan Khalid surfaced, urging him to accuse the former opposition parties of “treason”.
