Police say teenage boy killed over domestic dispute

Two men were killed in two separate incidents in the city on Monday.

In the first incident, a man stabbed his 16-year-old nephew to death over a domestic dispute within the limits of Bani police station.

The police said that the accused managed to escape after committing the crime.

The body of deceased, identified as Muhammad Anas, was taken to District Headquarters Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. They said that Anas died of excessive bleeding.

A murder case has been registered against Anas's uncle and efforts are being made to arrest the accused, said the police.

In another incident, some unidentified men shot and killed Fazlur Rehman, 26, in Dhok Chaudhry within the limits of of Race Course police station. Police and Rescue 1122 shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy.

According to a preliminary investigation, the man was killed over an old enmity. A case has been registered. Police are looking into the matter. The body was handed over to the family after completing legal and medical formalities.

Meanwhile, police launched a search operation in Madina Town and adjoining areas in the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad police station. According to a police spokesman, heavy police contingents, elite force, special branch personnel and ladies police under the supervision of senior police officers conducted search operation in the area and searched 31 houses, 10 shops and five hotels besides checking 70 persons.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Operations, Rawalpindi Waseem Riaz Khan said that search operations were being conducted to net lawbreakers and maintain law and order.
