Revival of laptop scheme for students announced

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has said that public service will be appreciated in the country rather than narratives about conspiracies.

The chief minister announced on Sunday that the laptop scheme for students would be launched again.

He asserted in a statement that all resources were being utilised to address the plight of the common people. “We are not afraid of difficulties and will overcome all the problems,” he emphasised.

He vowed to utilise the opportunity to serve the people without wasting any time.

“I feel for the distress and agonies of the masses and I subsidised flour immediately by giving Rs200 billion subsidy without the cabinet,” he maintained.

He said medicines were available free of charge in the tehsil and district headquarters hospitals. “I undertook immediate steps to provide free medicines to the cancer patients,” he added.

The chief minister said the provincial government was improving the outpatient departments (OPDs) of public sector hospitals and had fixed the minimum wage for the labourers at Rs25,000 per month.

“We have functionalised price control committees and the law and order situation will improve with the revival of Safe City Authority cameras,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz took notice of an incident of molestation of a woman in a bus near Rajanpur.

In another statement, the chief minister of Punjab expressed his deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of lives due to a bus accident near Sherani in Balochistan.

He expressed his heartfelt sympathy and grief with the heirs of the deceased and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the accident and vowed to stand by the bereaved families in the hour of grief. The CM prayed for fortitude and patience to the heirs of the deceased to bear the loss.
