Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif said he is a pro-democratic political worker, adding that he struggled for 27 years and provided Rs200 billion subsidy on flour for the masses without the cabinet.
CM while talking with the media representative in the Punjab Assembly stated that we were serving the masses and would continue to do so.
“The facts are before the masses, I did not demand to give me six months then I will give results. I started providing service to the creatures of Allah Almighty from the very onset,” the CM said.
The CM said he was stopped from giving a Rs200 billion subsidy without the cabinet's approval.
“I subsidised 10-kg flour to Rs160 and today a 10-kg flour bag is available at Rs490 across Punjab,” he said.
Responding to a question, the CM lamented that on the one hand Imran Niazi was misleading the masses by reducing the petrol prices and on the other hand was making agreements with the IMF. “Everyone knows that there was no electricity and PML-N brought 12,000 megawatts of electricity into the system. When we left the government in 2018 there was zero load shedding and the petrol prices were increased with a heavy heart. We want to save the country instead of the government. We came to save the country and took the political burden to improve the economy”.
