KARACHI:

The DNA samples collected from the three suspects accused of gang-raping a woman onboard the Bahauddin Zakaria Express train matched those obtained from the victim.

The court of Judicial Magistrate Syed Anwar Ali Shah at the Karachi City Court heard the case.

The DNA samples of the three suspects arrested in the case matched those obtained from the victim.

The challan submitted in the case stated that the victim had gone to Multan from Karachi on May 26 to visit her children. On May 27, while she was returning from Multan by train, Zahid, the ticket checker, took her from the Economy Class to the A-Class in-charge, Aqib.

Shortly thereafter, Zahid told the woman that the A-Class fare was high. When the victim asked to return to the economy class, Zahid became enraged and slapped her. He then proceeded to rape her, and the heinous crime was repeated by Aqib as well. The third suspect in the case, Zohaib, also raped the victim in the moving train.

The court accepted the challan against the accused, and a case was registered against them at City Railway Police Station.
