Poor ventilation spoils puppet show
The mesmerising performance of the puppeteer artists at the National Puppet Theatre was marred by poor ventilation system and improper arrangements on Friday.
The puppet show was arranged by the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) at Liaqat Memorial Hall. Qasim Malhi, a nine-year-old spectator, expressed resentment at the puppeteers' performance. Although he found the performance to be full of entertainment, the stifled ambiance of the auditorium due to poor ventilation spoiled the show's spirit.
Another spectator, Shamim Langha, stated, "I have come here with my grandson, unfortunately, I find it hard to sit in and enjoy due to suffocation in the hall.”
A PNCA official told APP that “the hall had no air conditioners and the fans couldn’t cater to the mass gathering at the hall amid scorching heat.”
Moreover, he said, “since it’s a free show for the public, hundreds of spectators come to enjoy every puppet show. We do not have enough space to facilitate hundreds of people.
In the peak of the summer season, it is a challenging task to facilitate the audience.”
