Different incidents claim 14 lives in one month in Murree

The hill station struggles to deal with emergency situations as Rescue 1122 reports majority calls to be fake

Despite the claim of taking measures after the Murree tragedy, 14 people lost their lives in different incidents in one month at the hill station Murree.

According to a report issued by Rescue 1122, the control room received 5,729 calls in June, of them, 4,419 proved to be fake.

In response to emergency calls, services were provided to 1,310 people in need of help. Out of the victims, 119 people were given first aid on the spot while 1,175 people were shifted to the hospital and 14 people died on the spot.

The report said that 113 traffic accidents, 980 medical emergencies, 29 fire incidents, eight quarrels and one drowning incident and 179 miscellaneous emergencies were reported in one month.

According to the report, 109 patients were shifted from Murree to various hospitals in Rawalpindi and Islamabad for better treatment and medical facilities.

Rescue 1122 Murree Emergency Officer Sibghatullah said that timely provision of rescue service in any emergency was their first priority. He appreciated the performance of the rescue personnel and issued orders to provide the best service to the citizens on time in case of any emergency in Murree during the summer.
