Another cop martyred in Swabi ambush
In yet another terrorism incident in KhyberPakhtunkhwa (K-P), a head constable was gunned down when two unidentified motorcyclists ambushed him in Swabi on Thursday.
Policeman Bakhat Munir was on way to office early in the morning when miscreants attacked him, who managed to escape unchallenged after committing the crime in broad daylight.
Talking to The Express Tribune Superintendent of Police (SP) Fayaz Khan said that the head constable was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors.
He said that investigation teams have been formed to look into the case from several angles, but apparently it was a case of terrorism.
It is worth mentioning here that on June 10 an ASI of Swabi police Yasir Khan and constable Amir Khan were killed in Kala Bat village when a man opened fire at police mobile under the influence of ice drug.
He was also killed in return fire by the police party. In a similar incident a constable Sajid Rehman was killed in Chota Lahore when drug smugglers opened fire at him at a checkpoint.
Police said that Bakhat Munir was travelling on his motorbike and when he reached Kaddi Lara in Dagai village, tehsil Razaar, he was attacked.
The deceased belonged to Yar Hussain village and it was his routine to use this route.
“The assailants attacked him near Kaddi Lara and he was killed on the spot in the jurisdiction of Kalu Khan police station,” said SP Fayaz, adding that the dead body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
