K-P used only 63% of FY22 uplift budget
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government spent only Rs226.81 billion of the total Rs371 billion allocated for the Annual Development Programme (ADP) during the outgoing fiscal year 2021-22.
An amount of Rs180 billion was spent in the settled districts of the province while Rs46 billion in the integrated tribal districts.
According to details released by the provincial government, of Rs270.59 billion allocated for the settled districts of the province, Rs185 billion was released while the expenditures were Rs180.49 billion. These include Rs9.83 billion for agriculture, Rs510 million for religious and minority affairs, Rs540 million for the finance department and Rs1.36 billion for the district ADP.
These also include Rs5 billion for drinking water and its supply, Rs6.09 billion for primary and secondary education, Rs4.67 for energy and power, Rs13.4 million for environment, Rs150 million for establishment and administration, Rs45 million for Excise and Taxation, Rs160 million for finance, Rs110 million for food, Rs4.71 billion for forests, Rs14.51 billion for health, Rs5.44 billion for higher education, Rs1.47 billion for admissions, Rs34 million for housing, Rs2 billion for industries, Rs50 million for information, Rs220 million for labour, Rs1.82 billion for law and justice, Rs3.27 billion for local government, Rs140 million for minerals and mineral development, Rs39.54 billion for multi-sector development, Rs200 million for population welfare, Rs400 million for public-private partnership, Rs1.67 billion for relief and rehabilitation, Rs41.87 billion for roads, and Rs41 million for social welfare.
Further, Rs8.99 billion was spent on sports and tourism, Rs340 million on science and technology, Rs340 million on transport, Rs7.55 billion on urban development and Rs16 billion on water.
Out of the Rs100 billion development budget allocated for the integrated districts of the province, Rs47.53 billion was released while the expenditures were Rs46.31 billion.
Of that figure, Rs34.65 billion was not received from other provinces as mandated under the three per cent National Finance Commission (NFC) Award share.
An amount of Rs2.97 billion was spent on agriculture, Rs48 million on endowments, religious and minority affairs and Rs410 million on the revenue department.
An amount of Rs2.4 billion from the district ADP could not be spent either.
