Terrorist wanted in over 50 cases killed

Accused Bilal was killed along with his accomplice in an operation in Rawalpindi the other day

PESHAWAR:

The Islamabad police and intelligence agency personnel in Rawalpindi killed the ring leader of a very high-profile criminal gang, which was involved in more than 50 heinous crimes, including terrorism, in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Accused Bilal was killed along with his accomplice in an operation in Rawalpindi the other day. He was wanted to Islamabad police in 40 cases, and to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in 12 other cases, including attacks on police intelligence Bureau (IB) officials.

According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials, Bilal was involved in the fatal attack on the vehicle of SHO Shahpur, Peshawar, Shakeel Khan in Chamkani on May 19. He was also involved in another attack on an additional inspector general of police.

After attacking the additional IG at the Islamabad Toll Plaza, the officials said, Bilal had fled to Afghanistan and came back after hiding there for six months.
