After the removal of Covid-19 restrictions, a flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) left for Kuala Lumpur from Lahore on Sunday morning as the national airline has resumed direct flights to Malaysia from Lahore Airport too after Islamabad.
The PIA has also added to its rapidly expanding network the direct flights from Karachi and Lahore to the Qatari capital Doha. The airlines had already resumed its direct flights to Doha from Islamabad. In a simple ceremony at the Lahore Airport, a cake was cut and flowers were presented to the passengers.
The PIA is already operating two weekly flights from Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur. The national airline is increasing the number of its flights on the special instructions of the minister for aviation. “The number of flights to tourist destinations is increasing on the occasion of summer vacations,” Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said.

“Direct access is now being provided from Lahore to the tourist destinations within the country and abroad,” he added. “Flights from Lahore to Gilgit and Skardu are also being operated, and now flights to Baku and Kuala Lumpur have also been arranged,” he stated.
“The purpose of these flights is to provide direct and comfortable travel facilities to the people through their national airline,” he pointed out. About addition to direct flights to Doha, the PIA in a tweet said: “PIA is rapidly expanding its network. After Islamabad to Doha flights, the PIA is adding flights to Doha from Karachi and Lahore as well. So, don't miss out on your plans to visit Doha for business, work or to watch FIFA World Cup.”
