Will watch it for sure: Christian Bale on still not seeing Pattinson’s 'Batman'

Actor is known for playing the role of the superhero three times in Christopher Nolan’s 'Batman' franchise

On Thursday, June 25, at the Thor: Love and Thunder premiere held at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Christian Bale told Variety that he is yet to watch the new Batman, starring Robert Pattinson.

“I still haven’t seen it. I will see it,” Bale told the publication. He spoke about his appreciation for the film and his successor, saying, “It's amazing how few films I see. Every director I work with, I’ve seen a couple of their films and they’re always looking at me going, ‘Are you kidding?’ I like to really savour films and I don’t watch too many. But I will, I certainly will watch Batman."

The American Psycho actor further added, "Robert is an absolutely wonderful actor. We bumped into each other, talked a little bit about it ahead of time, and I heard wonderful things."

Bale is famously known for playing the role of the superhero three times in Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise. Robert Pattinson has now been recruited for the role in the first film of Matt Reeves’ Batman franchise reboot.

The Batman actor stars in the Taika Watiti directed Thor: Love and Thunder as the spine-chilling Gorr the God Butcher. He features alongside Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson revealing that his decision to play the role was influenced by his children.

Bale spoke about his process of choosing to act in a film saying, “I always just look at who’s directing it, who are the people involved, is it a good story, am I gonna get something out of it.” However, he admitted, “With this one, it was my kids saying to me, ‘By the way, you’re doing this one,’ and I went, ‘Am I really?’ And they said, ‘Yes you are,’ and I went, ‘Okay, yes I am’.”
