Bodies of woman, son, two grandchildren brought back from G-B

Victims died in van crash; 13 other family members were injured in accident

KARACHI:

Bodies of four members of the same family who were killed in a road accident in Gilgit reached their home in Karachi on Friday.

The family from the Liaquatabad area of Karachi was on a road trip when their van plunged into a deep gorge near Rahimabad turn in Gilgit-Baltistan. At least 13 family members were injured in the crash.

The deceased include a woman, her son, a grandson and a granddaughter, whose bodies were brought to Karachi last night. Rescue officials said the dead included 50-year-old Nisara, wife of Khalid Hussain, her son Faisal, six-year-old granddaughter Urwa, daughter of Wasim Khalid and five-year-old grandson Abdullah son of Wasim Khalid. The bodies were shifted by Edhi Ambulance from Jinnah International Airport to Edhi Cold Storage at Sohrab Goth.

According to rescue officials, the deceased are residents of Liaqatabad Dakhana. Usman, a close relative of the deceased, said that Khalid Hussain's wife, her three sons, their wives and children had gone on a Pakistan tour, during which their van crashed. Three injured were in a condition to travel and were undergoing treatment at PHQ Hospital, Gilgit.
