Teams recovered 1.7kg of marijuana, 170 litres of homemade liquor from alleged criminals

MUZAFFARGARH:

Police arrested two alleged swindlers when they attempted to flee after allegedly cheating a shopkeeper in Sandeela Chowk on Friday.

Police said the suspects entered in his shop and made easypaisa transfers worth Rs300,000 through different mobile numbers.

When Nazir asked the accused to submit the required following the money transfer, they tried to flee the scene.

They were halted by the surrounding shopkeepers, who caught and held him while the police were called. The accused were sent to lock-up with further investigation underway.

Separately, police claim to have arrested 14 proclaimed offenders (POs) during a crackdown launched on Friday. A police spokesman, teams recovered 1.7kg marijuana and 170 litres of homemade liquor from the alleged criminals before registering FIRs against them.

At least 10 more accused, involved in gambling and other wrongful activities, were held separately.
