‘Engineers play a key role in economic growth’

Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman has said that engineers play a key role in economic growth and national development, whilst significantly improving people’s quality of life.

He expressed these views while talking to Engineering Development Board (EDB) Ministry of Commerce and Investment Chairman Almas Hyder, who called on him at the Governor House on Thursday. Balighur Rehman said there was an important link between the country's engineering capacity and its economic development.

The governor said that engineering disciplines integrate scientific principles with real life-oriented research, providing systems and processes that create methods for acquiring new knowledge. He added that the integration makes engineering critical to successful industrial innovation.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the engineering base to bring about an industrial revolution in the country.
