Punjab CM points out potential of Cholistan cultivation with technology

A delegation of businessmen and investors from Saudi Arabia expressed keen interest in investment in different sectors, including agriculture and livestock, in Punjab on Wednesday.

The delegation of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, led by Fahad Al-Bash, called on Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz. Punjab Minister Sardar Awais Legharii, senior political and business leaders as well as officials of the provincial government were present on the occasion. The chief minister said during the meeting that a conducive investment atmosphere was provided in Punjab.

It was time to transform longstanding brotherly relations into a durable economic partnership, he added and pointed out that thousands of acres of arid land in Cholistan could be turned into an oasis through technology.

The expansion in economic partnership would also benefit the people of both the counties, he said. The CM vowed to provide every possible facility to the Saudi investors and added that vast investment opportunities are available in different sectors in Punjab. Saudi Arabia is a trustworthy friend of Pakistan and it has fully supported the country in every hour of trial. The people of Punjab would fully appreciate the Saudi cooperation, he added.

The Saudi delegation's leader showed interest in benefiting from investment opportunities available in the agriculture, livestock and other sectors. Meanwhile, the chief minster also issued a statement expressing grief over loss of lives in an earthquake in Afghanistan.

He prayed for the early recovery of the injured, adding that all the sympathies of the Punjab government were with the affected families.

Also on Wednesday, Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz said while presiding over a provincial parliamentary party meeting of the PML-N and PPP that full focus had been given to provide relief to the common man in the budget.
