K-P rains claim one life, plunge province into darkness
At least one person, a resident of Nowshera, was killed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa as a result of torrential rainfall that plunged most parts of the province into darkness after over 100 feeders tripped across the province.
In Peshawar alone, at least 50 localities of the provincial capital are facing power outages since last night. In Chamkani, Wazir Bagh, Kashkaal, and the old city, there has been no electricity for the past 10 hours. Kohati Gate, Sarki, Rashid Garhi, Yaka Toot, and Gharibabad are also without power.
According to the authorities, the outages were a result of the heavy rain due to which dozens of feeders were tripped. The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) said the teams were working on fixing the electricity breakdown and would be able to restore the supply soon.

One death each from rains, quake
Meanwhile, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a report regarding the loss of lives and property over the past 24 hours.
The report mentioned two deaths, one due to the rainfall in Nowshera and another in Lakki Marwat due to an earthquake that jolted Pakistan earlier today.
The authority said at least four houses were partially damaged, adding that relief and rescue teams had been despatched to the rain-hit areas.
The chief minister had also put the relevant departments, including PDMA and district administrations, on high alert.
A day earlier, the K-P Disaster Management Authority said that the rains had killed two people and injured three in the last 24 hours. The report had added that 13 houses were partially damaged and four cattle lost their lives. The loss of life and damage to property had occurred mainly in the Dera Ismail Khan district
