KARACHI:

The Judicial Magistrate of West District, while granting bail to Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) MPA Shabir Qureshi in a case related to harassing a woman, warned the police investigator to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry.

PTI MPA Qureshi was arrested early on Sunday morning by SITE B police station squad over harassment charges leveled by a woman. PTI leaders have termed the case 'political victimisation' while Qureshi's wife has asserted, "my husband is innocent."

The woman in her complaint filed with the SITE B police stated that MPA Qureshi had called her on pretext of offering her a job.

As per procedure, police produced MPA Qureshi in the court. The court granted bail to the PTI lawmaker against a bond of Rs10,000.

The court also asked the investigating officer to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry honestly.
