Policeman booked for opening fire on citizen

A policeman has been booked after he tortured and opened fire on a youth who was going to withdraw cash from an ATM.

The policeman, identified as Yasir, also attempted to snatch the wallet of the youth, however, when the relatives of the young man reached the spot, the cop opened fire and injured the young man before fleeing.

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi City Police Officer Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari took notice of the incident and suspended the policeman, who has gone into hiding. The policeman is currently posted at the Ratta Amral police station.

Timur Shahbaz told the police while he was going to withdraw cash from an ATM in Block-A Satellite Town, a policeman wearing a uniform and holding a wireless set showed up and sought his identity card.

According to the complainant, when he told the policeman that he wanted to withdraw cash from the ATM, he slapped him saying that you were roaming around to commit a crime. He told the police that the cop also snatched his wallet and hurls threats to take him to the police station.

According to the complainant, when his cousins Noman and Zayafat arrived at the location, the policeman opened fire before escaping and a bullet hit Zayafat who was severely injured.
