Rescuers perform mock exercise

DEO conducted flood response exercise to ensure efficient disaster management

FAISALABAD:

Rescue-1122, in collaboration with other departments, arranged a mock exercise at Gogera Branch Canal Jaranwala on Saturday to review its efficiency and response during the monsoon season.

District Emergency Officer (DEO) Faisalabad Engineer Ehtisham Wahla led the exercise, in which information regarding a flood was spread.

Teams from Rescue-1122, Civil Defence, Special Branch, Livestock, Irrigation, Agriculture, Health and other departments rushed to the spot and conducted a rescue operation.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Abid Hussain and Assistant Commissioner Jaranwala observed the exercise as chief guests and lauded the performance of emergency departments. DEO Wahla said that Rescue-1122 had completed all necessary arrangements to deal with any emergency situation during heavy rain.

All necessary equipment was provided to rescue staff, in addition to directing them to remain alert around-the-clock.
