‘Bogus anti-dengue activities’ frowned upon

Warnings have been issued to officials concerned after 152 bogus anti-dengue activities were detected in the district by the monitoring team.

With a large number of dengue larvae being found across the district as compared to the previous years, the health department has termed the situation a double-edged sword.

Officials said that a large number of larvae could lead to more dengue cases. In case of heavy rains, they said, there was the danger of dengue spreading to an alarming extent.

District Health Authority focal person Dr Sajjad said that eight dengue-positive patients have been discharged from hospitals. At present, there were no patients in the city's three major government hospitals, he said. He, however, said that dengue positive cases were expected to surface from August and then from October 10.

Meanwhile, dengue larvas have been found in 6,748 houses in the last six months.
