Three-day theatre festival ends at Punjab Arts Council

The three-day theater festival ended at Punjab Arts Council (PAC) with a drama highlighting the plight of young girls who run away from their homes due to various reasons.

Presented on the last day of the festival, the drama titled Ghatri was written and directed by Muhammad Aslam Mughal. The cast of the play included Dildar Khan, Sapna shah, Ismail Bashir, Raja Sattar, Rizwana Khan, Gulnaz Rani, Ehsan Qureshi, Faisal Raja, Ansar, Saleem Raza and Abdullah.

Naheed Manzoor, who was the special guest at the event, said that the theater festival has strengthened the tradition of drama and it is a reflection of social values. There is no shortage of talent in Pakistan, she said.

PAC Director Waqar Ahmed said that every drama was the cause of enhancing the prestige of the theater festival. In this regard, all the theater groups deserve a tribute.

The PAC will continue to provide such opportunities to the viewers of drama.

PAC Assistant Director Mohammad Suleiman said that after watching the performances of young artists, he could say that theater drama can never end, it will live forever. “We have to take serious theater so that the viewers get rid of the frivolous and meaningless dramas,” he said.

In the Theater Festival, William Pervez performed Drama Do Dooni Char, Sulaiman Sunni performed Drama Char Deewar, Arshad Minhas performed Drama Curfew and Asma Butt presented Drama Naqal Makani.
