Sonakshi Sinha recently took to social media to address her wedding rumours with actor Zaheer Iqbal after the two exchanged an “I love you” on Instagram. In a reel uploaded on the photo-sharing platform, the Dabangg actor mocked the media for desperately wanting her to get married.

A post shared by Sonakshi Sinha (@aslisona)

She captioned the video, “Me to the media: Kyu haath dho kar meri shaadi karwana chahte ho (Why are you so desperate to get me married)?” Following a Tik Tok trend, Sonakshi was lip-syncing a Shah Rukh Khan dialogue from his movie Baazigar as she continued, “Le media: Acha lagta hai mujhe, bohat maza aata hai (I really like it, I enjoy it a lot).”

Joking about the constant speculation surrounding her alleged relationship, Sonakshi quipped, “Proposal, roka, mehendi, sangeet sab fix kar hi liya hai toh pls mujhe bata do (You’ve planned everything for me so please tell me too). Several friends and fans commented on the post including Zaheer who dropped several laughing emojis in the comments section of her post.

Reports regarding the duo’s budding romance had already been circulating but a video Zaheer posted for Sonakshi’s birthday added to these assumptions. Many took the post as a way of publicising the relationship. The post featured some moments between the two and it was also captioned, “Happy Birthday Sonz. Thank you for not killing me. I love you. Here’s to a lot more food, flights, love and laughter. PS: This video sums up the entire time we’ve known each other”.

Sonakshi began her journey in the Bollywood film industry with her first movie, Dabangg, in 2010 under Salman Khan’s banner, Salman Khan Films. Zaheer’s debut in the industry also began through Salman Khan Films with his movie, Notebook, in 2019. All the talk about their wedding has also left netizens feeling excited to see the two together in their upcoming film, Double XL, directed by Satram Ramani.
