K-P judges visit Haripur Central Jail

On their arrival to the Central Jail, a smart contingent of Prisons Police presented them a guard of honour

PESHAWAR:

Senior Judge of Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) Abbottabad Bench Justice Waqar Ahmad and Justice Kamran Hayat Miankhel visited the Haripur Central Jail on Tuesday.

They high court judges were accompanied by District & Sessions Judge Haripur, Jehanzeb Shinwari, Additional District & Sessions Judge Haripur, Asghar Ali and Judicial Magistrate-1, Arshad Mohmand.

On their arrival to the Central Jail, a smart contingent of Prisons Police presented them a guard of honour.

The Superintendent of Central Jail Haripur, Hamid Azam and Deputy Superintendent Akhtar Hussain Shah gave a detailed presentation pertaining to matters of interest to the judges.

The judges also paid a visit to various sections of the prison including female wards, kitchen, hospital and particularly where juveniles stay apart from old age barracks.

They were able to collect first-hand information from the prisoners. The judges heard the problems of prisoners and issued directives to the prison authorities for their resolution.

They also expressed satisfaction over facilities granted to prisoners and appreciated the efforts of prison authorities for the purpose.
