With more Pakistani and Indian artists collaborating, there has been a wave of cross-border support and affection. This is evident at the 2022 IIFA Awards, where seasoned actors Pankaj Tripathi and Suniel Shetty transcended borders with heartfelt messages to their fans in Pakistan for all their support and love. Photographer Ali Baig took to Instagram with posts featuring the actors sending love to their fans across the border.

In a video shared on the social media platform, the Phir Hera Pheri actor who has visited Pakistan is seen blowing kisses to his Pakistani fanbase, “For all my Pakistani brothers and sisters, sending a lot of love. For all of you”.

In another video, Tripathi is standing with his hands joined together, a gesture of respect as he says, “To all Pakistani fans, sending you my love and well wishes. I know fans from Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and from all over message me. So my love to you all”.

The IIFA awards made their comeback after a two year halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The much awaited ceremony had some of Bollywoods A-listers like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachan and Ranveer Singh in attendance. A deeper sense of love was also instilled towards our neighbors across the border when Pakistani brand NABILA was invited as an official backstage partner to the ceremony. With the showbiz industry breaking down cultural barriers that have for years divided the subcontinent, it is a wholesome experience to watch the two countries come together, expressing their talent to the world.
