Traders promised conducive environment
Federal Minister of States and Frontier Regions Talha Mahmood has stressed that the top priority of the government is to create a conducive environment for the business community and asked the private sector to come forward and lend a helping hand to the government.
The minister made the remarks after inaugurating the two-day Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology Expo, organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), on Friday.
“Business and education are closely related. Progress and prosperity can be achieved if both are given priority and attention,” he said and offered to act as a bridge between the government and the business community.
“Undoubtedly, Pakistan is a country rich in natural resources, however, proper management is required to get the desired results,” he said.
Earlier in his speech, RCCI President Nadeem Rauf said that IT was an emerging sector as Pakistan’s share in IT services and exports stood at just $4 billion whereas neighbouring India’s share had been significantly higher at approximately $133 billion.
